The development objective of the Territorial Development and Resilience Project for Chad is to improve access to infrastructure, basic services, and economic opportunities, and enhance local institutions capacity for local service delivery in selected areas of Chad. The project comprises of four components.
The Project Development Objective is to design and support the uptake of innovative models for valuing mangrove, seagrass and coralreef ecosystem services with the potential to enhance the sustainability of marine-based enterprise and marine spatial planning in select coastal communities in Indonesia and the Philippines. The project developed a myriad of tools to help capture the benefits of mangroves, seagrass, and coral reefs , and ensured these would be adopted broadly through workshops and dissemination.
The Project Development Objective is to improve protected areas management, and to promote ecotourism
opportunities and non-timber forest product value chains in the Cardamom Mountains-Tonle Sap landscape. The project aims to sustain and increase forest cover which will reduce soil erosion, maintain or improve water quality for downstream users, provide protection to farms and villages located in floodprone areas, reduce GHG emissions, and protect critical natural habitats.
The Second Regional Economic Development Project aims to improve access to municipal services, strengthen agriculture value chains, and increase SME activities in the Batken region. The project promotes Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) and green infrastructure projects to support climate resilience and sustainable regional development.
The Second Ethiopia Resilient Landscapes and Livelihoods Project aims to improve climate resilience, land productivity, and carbon storage, and increase access to diversified livelihoods in selected rural watersheds. The project focuses on watershed restoration, climate-smart agriculture, and strengthening institutions and information for better decision-making. It supports sustainable rural development and improved environmental resilience in Ethiopia.
The Rural Livelihoods Productivity and Resilience Project aims to increase productivity and strengthen resilience of rural livelihoods in targeted areas in Madagascar. Key activities include reforestation, watershed management, agroforestry, and promoting climate-smart agriculture, sustainable irrigation, and value chain development to mitigate climate risks and enhance rural livelihoods.
The RESILAND CA+ Program: Uzbekistan Resilient Landscapes Restoration Project aims to increase the area under sustainable landscape management in Uzbekistan and enhance regional collaboration on transboundary restoration. Key activities include tree-based landscape restoration, strengthening institutions and policies, enhancing protected areas and nature-based tourism, and promoting community-based forest management.
The RESILAND CA+ Program: Tajikistan Resilient Landscape Restoration Project aims to increase the area under sustainable landscape management in selected locations in Tajikistan and strengthen collaboration with Central Asian countries on transboundary restoration. The project focuses on restoring degraded forests and pastures to enhance ecosystem resilience and support sustainable livelihoods.
The Regional Sahel Pastoralism Support Project II aims to improve the resilience of pastoralists and agro-pastoralists in the Sahel region. The project promotes sustainable landscape management, including the rehabilitation of ponds and riverbanks, to support water resource sustainability and enhance livelihoods in targeted areas.
The Northern Mozambique Rural Resilience Project aims to improve access to livelihoods and strengthen natural resource management in rural areas of Northern Mozambique. The project includes mangrove restoration and coastal vegetation initiatives in Nampula and Cabo Delgado to stabilize coastlines, reduce erosion, and support fish spawning areas, alongside efforts to promote sustainable agriculture, fisheries, and community-driven development.
