The development objective of the Flood Management Project for Ethiopia is to strengthen Ethiopia’s institutional capacity for disaster risk management (DRM), and flood risk management in selected basins. The objective of the Local Forest Communities Support Project was to strengthen the capacity of targeted local communities in Burkina Faso to participate in REDD+ programs at local, national, and global levels. The project supported training in leadership, conflict resolution, and capacity-building for customary land tenure and traditional forest management systems. Sub-grants facilitated activities to improve livelihoods and supported reforestation efforts, contributing to the restoration or reforestation of 34,000 hectares of forest.
