The development objective of the Outer Islands Resilience and Adaptation Project for Kiribati is to: (i) strengthen the capabilities of island councils for risk-informed land development planning and basic infrastructure and service delivery; and (ii) strengthen the climate resilience of vulnerable communities. The project comprises of three components.
The project development objective is to improve institutional capacity for urban management and access to select infrastructure and services, as well as to socio-economic opportunities in Kinshasa. The project will build urban resilience by implementing nature-based drainage solutions (improved infiltration) for roads and designing green public spaces.
The development objectives of the Kananga Emergency Urban Resilience Project for Democratic Republic of Congo are to safeguard houses and critical infrastructure affected by gully erosion in Kananga and strengthen the capacity of the recipient’s government and local organizations in erosion management and climate resilient urban planning. The project comprises of four components.
The development objective of the Integrated Water Management and Development Project for Uganda is to improve access to water supply and sanitation services, integrated water resources management, and operational performance of water and sanitation service providers in Project areas. It has four project component. First component, water supply and sanitation in small towns and rural growth centers and support to districts hosting refugees will support activities to improve WSS in selected small towns and RGCs in the Recipient’s territory.
The objectives of the Integrated Urban Development and Resilience Project for Greater Antananarivo Project is to enhance urban living conditions and flood resilience in selected low-income neighborhoods of Greater Antananarivo; and to improve the Recipient’s capacity to respond promptly and effectively to an Eligible Crisis or Emergency. There are four components to the project, the first component being improving urban drainage, services and resilience in targeted areas.
The development objective of the Integrated Flood Resilience and Adaptation Project for Pakistan is to improve livelihoods and essential services and enhance flood risk protection in selected communities affected by the 2022 floods. The project comprises of six components.
The project aims to increase the sustainable access and management of groundwater in the Horn of Africa's borderlands. It will support aquifer sustainability (recharge) and flood mitigation measures, including sand dams, rainwater harvesting, afforestation, and soil and water conservation measures.
The development objective of Resilient and Inclusive Housing Project is to improve the quality of housing and public space for vulnerable households, including migrants from Venezuela, in selected municipalities. This project has three components. 1) The first component, Improve Homes and Neighborhoods for Low-Income Household, has the following sub-components: (i) Supporting Subsidy Schemes to Improve Housing Quality; and (ii) Improving Living Conditions in Selected Neighborhoods.
The development objective of the Greater Accra Resilient and Integrated Development Project for Ghana is to improve flood risk management and solid waste management in the Odaw River Basin of the Greater Accra Region and improve access to basic infrastructure and services in the targeted communities within the Odaw River Basin. It has five components.
The project aims to expand and enhance social safety nets and provide access to productive income generating opportunities for the poor in Ghana. In Rural areas, the project will conduct forestation and reforestation to mitigate climate change and support catchment and watershed protection and biodiversity conservation, while also constructing urban greening to mitigate flood risks.
