The Republic of the Marshall Islands Urban Resilience Project aims to strengthen the resilience of select urban areas to natural hazards and climate change. Key activities include risk-informed adaptation planning, coastal resilience investments, and resilient public facility standards, supported by Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) like mangrove restoration and vegetated buffer zones. The project enhances institutional capacity for sustainable adaptation beyond its closure.

The Project for Integrated Urban and Tourism Development aims to improve urban infrastructure, enhance tourism assets, and strengthen institutional capacity for tourism-related economic development in southern Albania. The project supports tree planting and urban park restoration to enhance urban environments and promote sustainable tourism.

The Peru Sustainable Growth and Finance DPF-DDO aims to support government reforms to strengthen fiscal resilience and efficiency, foster an inclusive and competitive financial sector, and promote greener production. This operation incorporates lessons from prior World Bank engagements and is aligned with the WBG Global Crisis Response Framework to build resilience and mainstream climate action.

The Nigeria COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Project aims to prevent, detect, and respond to COVID-19 threats at the state level in Nigeria. The project focuses on emergency response, containment, and mitigation strategies while supporting public-private partnerships to enhance climate-resilient health infrastructure. Key activities include creating green spaces through tree planting around facilities to mitigate heat and improve environmental conditions.

The Niger Integrated Urban Development and Multi-sectoral Resilience Project aims to enhance flood resilience, improve urban management, and expand access to basic services in selected municipalities in Niger. The project includes flood risk reduction measures, such as drainage infrastructure and sand dune fixation, as well as urban greening to mitigate temperatures and preserve forests. These initiatives promote sustainable urban development and improve resilience in vulnerable communities.

The N’Djamena Urban Resilience Project aims to reduce flood risk and strengthen climate-resilient urban planning and flood-related services in N’Djamena. The project implements green and gray infrastructure measures, including rain gardens, green corridors, and rehabilitation of urban wetlands to mitigate flood risks and enhance urban resilience. Key components focus on flood protection, climate-resilient urban planning, and community disaster preparedness.

The Metro Manila Flood Management Project aims to improve flood management in selected areas of Metro Manila. Key components include modernizing drainage systems, minimizing solid waste in waterways, supporting participatory housing and resettlement, and enhancing project management and coordination. These efforts focus on reducing flood risks and improving living conditions in flood-prone areas.

The proposed Project has drawn on international best practices such as “working with nature”.

The project will have an important components on using NbS for erosion, flood risk reduction, and landslide control. This will largely include increasing green spaces, revegeation, and use of microretention areas.

The Government of Brazil, through the Municipal Secretariat for Planning, Teresina, is implementing the Teresina Enhancing Municipal Governance and Quality of Life Project for Brazil with the objectives to: a) modernize and improve the management capacity of Teresina Municipal Government in the financial, urban environmental, service delivery, and economic development fields, and b) improve the quality of life of the low-income population of the Lagoas do Norte region of the city.
