The Government of Poland has requested funding to increase access to flood protection for people living in selected areas of the Odra River and the Upper Vistula River basins and to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Borrower to mitigate the impact of floods more effectively. The large-scale project will improve flood protection through selected structural gray measures, as well as green measures, institutional strengthening and enhance forecasting. Green measures will include opening space for the river to inundate the natural floodplain, while also diminishing flood velocities.

The Government of China has set aside funds to implement the concept of new urbanization and support Ningbo as one of the pilot municipalities in promoting inclusive cities for low-income people and migrant workers. Specifically, the objective of the Ningbo Sustainable Urbanization Project is to improve the use of urban public space, improve urban mobility, and reduce flood risk in selected counties in Ningbo Municipality. The objective of the project “Natural Resource Management in a Changing Climate in Mali” is to expand the adoption of sustainable land and water management (SLWM) practices in climate vulnerable targeted communes in Mali. The Government of Mali aims to achieve this through the implementation of capacity building, biodiversity conservation, and support to poverty reduction activities applying an ecosystem-based adaptation approach.
